Does it have to stay plugged in?
No. The battery runs it cordlessly, with up to 50 days of standby in timer mode. In sensor mode, runtime depends on how often your pet drinks. You can leave it plugged in if you would rather.
Is it noisy at night?
The pump is quiet in normal use. In timer mode it runs 15 seconds every 15 minutes rather than continuously, which most owners find less intrusive overnight.
How do I clean it?
Warm water and a soft cloth. Steel is non-porous, so there is no biofilm to scrub out. Rinse the pump periodically and change the filter when the water stops looking clear.
Will my cat actually use it?
Moving water encourages some cats who ignore a still bowl. Cats can take a few days to approach anything new, so leaving their old bowl out alongside for the first week helps.
Is it stable enough for a large dog?
Yes. The 25 mm tray suits a broad muzzle, and seven litres of water keeps the fountain planted on the floor.
